one generation at a time.
Let my Passion become yours with affordable prices for a precious investment.
North of the Rock Alpacas welcomes all who would like to visit. Visiting North of the Rock Alpacas is an adventure for both young and old.
In addition to the alpacas I have many other critters on the farm. Big Al my African Sulcata Tortoise is 14 years old, about 70#lbs. His big day is chasing the dogs and eating grass in the back yard.
I have talking Parrots- Sarge and Bob which may or may not entertain while you visit. I also have 12 dogs, 3 are the guard dogs for the alpacas (Emma & Jenny & Sadie K). The others just hang out and try and help with chores. Everyone seems to co mingle well with each other. Including the White Rooster "Baby" who does everything with the alpacas including Eating, sleeping, & snuggling. He does have a psychic ability to sense when an alpaca is sick. Strange as it sounds and scary for me when I see him spending more time than he should be with a particular alpaca.
There are many things to learn in the life of Alpacas. Although alpacas are easy to maintain there is some daily and monthly care that should never be forgotten. As with everything I learn new and exciting things about my alpacas everyday. They are not all the same and what one alpaca does is not always the same for the next, other than using the same poop pile. In the last 8 years I have had some great learning experiences and continue to learn daily about my furry friends. I give the best quality care and customer support possible. Working in the Veterinary field as an assistant at a very busy clinic gives me the chance to learn many many things about all animals.
The girls on my for sale list are healthy and strong. I am selling most of my girls fairly cheap making room for new coming into the farm. I will not leaving the alpaca business. I will continue to board alpacas and give the quality care that you expect as an owner. I spend many hours in the barn with the alpacas and they are used to being handled.
My farm is located 14 miles north of Starved Rock State Park in Utica, IL. Which is how I decided on the name: North of the Rock Alpacas. People in our area refer to Starved Rock State Park as "The Rock." My Alpacas are raised with the best care I can provide. I am very serious about alpaca education, alpaca wellness, and will continue to give customer support after my girls are sold. I love the alpacas and learn something new all the time as my farm continues to change. Become a fan of North of the Rock Alpacas on Facebook. Keep up to date on pictures and the fun I have on the farm.
