My farm is located 14 miles North of Starved Rock State Park in Utica, IL. Which is how we decided on our Name: North of the Rock Alpacas. Most people in our area refer to Starved Rock State Park as "The Rock."
My Alpacas are raised with the best care we can provide. I are very serious about alpaca education and the health of our alpacas, and will continue to give customer support after our alpacas are gone. I love my alpacas and learn something new all the time as our farm continues to grow.
As of December 2005 the farm has been tested and is BVD - PCR Negative. All alpacas coming to our farm must come with a copy of their PCR-BVD testing. We take BVD very seriously and I will continue to protect my herd and your alpacas while they are visiting.
The farm started in May of 2002 buying just two alpacas. Mikayla being our first and Almond Joy being our second alpaca. Mikayla is featured in our farm logo along with Toby - which is Almond Joy's cria. We have a very nice herd with our Top Herdsire (Status Symbol SSRMT) being a Multi-Color Champion Winner in just one year. He is the Grandson of Peruvian Bueno. Status is now being offered for sale at 1/2 interest. I did have two skin biopsy's done on Status. He has beautiful crias on the ground and we look forward to sharing his bloodlines.
I do our best to raise and breed quality alpacas. Every breeding is supervised at all times, taking great care of the herdsire and the dam.
I welcome farm visits and will teach you as much as I can about raising alpacas. I do have products available in our farm store located in our home. I have socks, sweaters, scarves, hats, Alpaca Twist yarn in addition to our alpacas fleece that has been processed to yarn. I also have raw fleece available.
